Professional History:

Ms. Beaumont worked extensively as an actress in Canada before coming to the United States. She has studied at the Canadian Mime School and with many theater artists, including Philippe Gaulier of the LeCoq School in Paris, Trish Arnold of the Guild Hall in London (formerly primary movement teacher at LAMDA, London), and Kristin Linklater currently teaching at Columbia University.

Areas of Interest:

Currently she is writing a book on movement for actors and finishing her studies as a Somatic Movement Educator. Ms. Beaumont is a member of the core faculty at Shakespeare & Company, where she acts, directs, and teaches. Her most recent roles with the Company include Ms. Page in Merry Wives of Windsor and Emilia in Othello. She also teaches movement for actors privately in New York City. (1989–)

Research Interests/Professional Service:

In 1985, with the assistance of a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, she was part of a company, under the direction of Merry Conway, researching the difference between clown and fool. This research culminated in a performance in New York City titled In Praise of Folly. She is the recipient of grants from the Canada Council and the Kentucky Women's Foundation.
