Internships & Extended Campus Projects
Internships offer professional experience—sometimes paid, sometimes not—with real firms and agencies, working with real people, and solving real problems. Our students find internships in many fields: business and finance, ecology and the environment, government and law, social services and mental health, journalism and the arts. An extended campus project is an educational experience that happens to take place somewhere other than campus. Students develop projects in consultation with a faculty member and a program advisor; they work under the guidance of supervisors in the field and at Simon’s Rock. Recent projects include working with the Washington Center for Learning Alternatives; teaching English and math in Thailand, Ecuador, and Kenya; working at a biodynamic farm in France; volunteering at an orphanage in Honduras; studying theater direction at Shakespeare & Company in Berkshire County; conducting computer analysis for insurance giant AXA; and interning at Random House Publishing in New York City.
