Six Easy Things Alumni Can Do That Have Big Impact
Stay in Touch
When you move, change your e-mail address or phone, pass that info along to alumni@simons-rock.edu. When you get a new job, earn a new degree, buy a house, change careers, have a baby, or other significant events, send an update. We’ll help get the word out by including your news in Class Notes. We especially hope to see you in person! Please join us at regional alumni events and on-campus gatherings.
Use RockNet
Log-on at www.rocknet.simons-rock.edu and get connected to the alumni directory, events, announcements, chat room, college news and more. Filling in the education and career information sections of your profile is particularly helpful. It helps staff in the Win Commons Student Resource Center connect current students and young alumni with alums who are already established in their careers. Your info also helps to identify potential internships and mentoring programs.
Give a Gift
Every gift to Simon’s Rock has meaning—your alumni gift especially so. Alumni gifts are designated for scholarships. Not only do you help make it possible for great, deserving students to receive the scholarship support they need, you are also tangibly demonstrate to foundations, other donors, and reporting agencies your belief in the importance of a Simon’s Rock education. Please participate in our annual Student-to-Alumni Phonathon or visit www.simons-rock.edu anytime to make your gift.
Give a Student
As an alum, you recognize students with Simon’s Rock potential when you see them. Suggest they check the college out. Alumni referrals are taken seriously and inform our Admissions team to pay close attention to the candidates. Application fees are waived for alumni-referred applicants. Plus if they are accepted, your referral generates a $1,000 scholarship.
Include Simon’s Rock on Your Resume
We want employers, institutions, and individuals to know where you studied. After all, we are proud of you—often amazed by your exploits. You are the “living proof” of the educational philosophy espoused at Simon’s Rock.
Stay Informed
We appreciate your ongoing interest in the college and endeavor to keep you current on activities, events, and important milestones along the way. Our publications and communications such as our e-newsletter SimonSays, Notes from Provost Mary B. Marcy, The Magazine, RockNet, the college website, letters, and postcards are all designed to help you stay in touch with what's going on.
