Kellogg Music Center

This year's theme is "Berkshire Foodways" with two panels and a poster session.

10:15-11:45am
The morning panel is titled "Grown/Made in the Berkshires" and we will ask local food producers to answer the question: "what is Berkshire food?".   I have confirmed speakers, Alana Chernila (cookbook author), Maddie Elling (Hosta Hill), and Richard Bourdon (Berkshire Mountain Bakery) in the first panel on Berkshire food.

12-1:15pm Lunch
The lunchtime poster session will feature research by students in the "Global Foodways" course taught by Katie Boswell and Alana Chernila.

1:30-3pm
The second panel is titled "Feeding the Berkshires" and will answer the question:  "what networks have been established to distribute the food produced in the Berkshires?".   Sarah Gardner from Williams College will speak on food mapping in the county, Peter Stanton will talk about the Berkshire FoodWeb, Nick Martinelli on his hopes for a Berkshire food hub, and Jock Herron, Center for Food Studies Advisory Board member who worked on the Worcester food hub.
