Orientalism & Eroticism in 19th Century Art

The first Faculty Forum of the academic year will feature professor of art history Joan DelPlato, who will read portions of her new book, Orientalism, Eroticism and Modern Visuality in Global Cultures, published this past spring by Routledgeand and co-edited with Julie Codell of Arizona State University. Dr. DelPlato will appear on Monday, September 26, in Blodgett House at 4 pm.  The event will be enhanced by some of the many visual images discussed in the book, an edited volume of eight papers written by internationally acclaimed art historians.
