GREAT BARRINGTON, MA—Bard College at Simon’s Rock offers residents and visitors numerous opportunities to delve into cultural events—from visual and performing arts to lectures and readings. Events are open to the public and free, unless otherwise noted.

Coming Events

Infinite Measure: Geometric Harmony in Art, Architecture, and Nature
Daily through Friday, September 19, 9:00am, Hillman-Jackson Gallery at the Daniel Arts Center
Exhibition curated by designer and author Rachel Fletcher. On Thursday, September 4 at 5 p.m. Fletcher will give a gallery talk followed by a reception and book signing.

Book One Lecture: Lysley Tenorio
Monday, August 18, 7:00 p.m., McConnell Theater, Daniel Arts Center
Multiple-award-winning author and National Endowment fellow Lysley Tenorio will lecture on his 2012 work Monstress: Stories.

Infinite Measure: Gallery Talk
Thursday, September 4, 5:00 p.m., Hillman-Jackson Gallery at the Daniel Arts Center
Author Rachel Fletcher will give a gallery talk followed by reception and book signing. This part of the exhibit currently at the gallery curated by designer and author Fletcher.

Vijay Seshadri, winner of the 2014 Pulitzer Prize in Poetry, will read from his poetry.

Simon’s Rock Alumna Starts New Season with Solo Piano Recital
Saturday, September 6, 8:00 p.m., McConnell Theater, Daniel Arts Center
Manon Hutton-DeWys, a graduate of Simon's Rock and the Mannes School of Music, will perform a solo piano recital that will include works by CPE Bach, Rogers Sessions and Debussy.

Poetry & Fiction Reading Series - Francine Prose
Thursday, September 18, 6:30 p.m., Blodgett House
Francine Prose, recipient of numerous awards including a Guggenheim and Edith Wharton Award for Literature, will read from her new novel, Lovers at the Chameleon Club, Paris 1932.
 

Faculty Recital Series: Allan Dean, trumpet recital

The Faculty Recital Series presents Allan Dean, performing a trumpet recital, assisted by Ronald Barron and Larry Wallach.
