At Bard Academy and Bard College at Simon's Rock, age doesn't define intellect: our mission is to inspire the curiosity and creativity of motivated younger scholars with a challenging, empowering, and inclusive education in the liberal arts and sciences.
For 50 years, the students and faculty at Bard College at Simon’s Rock have collaborated to redefine what education can be. Concentrated study of the liberal arts at the college level should start when committed, forward-looking students are ready to explore their intellectual and creative potentials. Our students begin college at the end of 10th grade. But redefining the educational experience can start even earlier. At Bard Academy, we offer an unprecedented and unparalleled two-year boarding and day high school program to complement the innovative higher education offered at Simon’s Rock.
Communities around the country have seen a recent increase in alternatives for early college enrollment. High schools, however, haven’t evolved in directions that appropriately support the students and families who want to take advantage of these options.
At the end of the 10th grade, Bard Academy students are ready for a seamless transition to college, even more than many of their older academic peers. We cultivate creative thinkers who are motivated to take on even greater challenges. We develop a community of diverse talents and minds ready for experiences that change how they learn. We encourage our students in a pursuit of knowledge that never stops enriching them. Bard Academy is their place to start.
