Faculty in Biology

Bard College at Simon’s Rock invites applications for a regular, full-time position in Biology, beginning Fall 2021. Bard College at Simon’s Rock is a small, selective liberal arts college located in Berkshire County, Massachusetts. The College serves younger students eager to begin college early, with a freshman median age of 16. Bard Academy, our rigorous and creative high school program that opened in 2015, serves students at the 9th and 10th grade level. Regular faculty appointments at Bard College at Simon's Rock are for 3-, 4-, and subsequent 10-year contracts. Requirements for this position include a Ph.D. (ABD will be considered) in Biology or related field  and a demonstrated ability to teach courses ranging from the introductory to the advanced undergraduate level.  We seek faculty passionate about expandingeducational opportunity and equity by bringing rigorous curricula to a diverse student population. A commitment to contributing to both our College and Academy curricula is essential. The successful applicant will bring research experience and a research plan that can incorporate undergraduate students.

All areas of biology will be considered; we are particularly interested in candidates with teaching and research experience in Cellular and Molecular Biology, and the ability to teach courses in Human Anatomy.  We also have a strong institutional interest in Neuroscience, connected to our Center for Mind and Brain Studies.
