Berkshire Magazine, Multicultural BRIDGE, and Bard College at Simon’s Rock host a talk on “Social Justice: Ethics, Writing, and Reporting for Social Change.” Join the conversation. Journalists, students, and the general public are invited.

Guest workshop leader:
Anastasia Stanmeyer, editor of Berkshire Magazine since its debut in 2012, is a career journalist who began her writing with daily newspapers in Florida, including the Tampa Tribune and Tallahassee Democrat. She has contributed to other newspapers such as the Christian Science Monitor, Dallas Morning News, San Francisco Chronicle, and has published stories in magazines such as Time, Asiaweek, Newsweek, and Stern. Born in Memphis, raised in Connecticut and Kansas, she was based in Asia for 12 years before coming to the Berkshires and has covered regions under major political and social change such as South Sudan, Indonesia, Cambodia, Burma, and Haiti. She spent years documenting the AIDS epidemic in Asia and its connectivity to social issues and women’s rights. She was an MCLA Hardman Journalist in Residence in 2015.
