Thursday, November 2, 2017

Daniel Arts Center - Hillman-Jackson Gallery

Faculty artists will give a brief gallery talk about their work in the exhibition opening Friday, November 3. A reception will follow the talk.

The art exhibition features work by studio arts instructors in ceramics, painting, printmaking and photography.

Participating artists include Brett Evans, resident artist in ceramics; Dan Karp, faculty in photography; Anthony Kirk, adjunct faculty in printmaking; Jacob Fossum, faculty in painting and drawing; Ben Krupka, faculty in ceramics; John Musall, faculty in theater lighting and set design; and Aaron Turner, adjunct faculty in photography.

The exhibition provides students, colleagues, and visitors a glimpse into the creative and professional work of the artists who teach in the Arts Division, and showcases the wide spectrum of talent of the Simon’s Rock faculty, many of whom have received prestigious fellowships and residencies, and have exhibited widely.  The show will include traditional wood-fired ceramics, abstract sculptural work in ceramics and in found objects, both landscape and portrait photography and painting, and intaglio etching and aquatint printing.
