Bard College at Simon's Rock: the Early College

CANCELED: So. Berk. Concert with Francesca Anderegg

Sunday, March 29

Kellogg Music Center

Please note, this event has been canceled.

Violin virtuoso Francesca Anderegg offers a violin and piano recital of compositions by women composers, including Clara Schumann, the great Russian composer Sofia Gubaidulina, and Americans Gillian Whitehead, Gabriela Lena Frank, and Hannah Lash. The piano accompanist is Matthew McCright.

Francesca Anderegg is familiar to Berkshire audiences, having grown up here and appearing in local venues. Her previous appearance at Simon’s Rock was in December 2012 when she performed a program of 20th-century masterpieces.  Hailed by the New York Times for her “rich tone” and “virtuosic panache,” violinist Francesca Anderegg delivers insightful accounts of contemporary and classical music. Through her inventive programming, active composer collaborations, and precise yet impassioned interpretations, Anderegg has earned renown as a musical explorer of the first order. The search for unusual repertoire has made Ms. Anderegg a fierce advocate for new music.
