Saturday, May 22

Blodgett Lawn - 84 Alford Rd

Maudie Shah ’99 and Sumul Shah ’99, co-founders of Amino and Simon’s Rock alumni, will address the graduates at the 52nd Commencement ceremony of Bard College at Simon’s Rock on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. The ceremony, which will be held in-person for graduating students, will also be livestreamed on the Simon’s Rock Facebook page for public viewing.

Maudie and Sumul met at Bard College at Simon’s Rock, where they earned their associate of arts degrees, received electrical and computer engineering degrees from Cornell, and went on to get married and start their own consulting business. In 2015, they launched Amino, a San Francisco-based digital healthcare guidance platform that provides a simple way for employees to search for providers, book appointments, and access employer-sponsored health benefits. Today their business has over one million members and serves major employers including Hitachi, Wellfleet, and Envision Healthcare.

After living as digital nomads, Maudie and Sumul recently settled in northern New Hampshire to become the conservation stewards of Pine Knob Farm, a 900-acre forest in the foothills of the White Mountains.
