Bard College at Simon's Rock: the Early College

Founder's Day Kickoff Event in McConnell

Monday, November 15, 2021

Daniel Arts Center - McConnell Theater

This year marks 112 years since the birth of Elizabeth Blodgett Hall, the far-seeing innovator who launched Simon’s Rock and with it the early college movement. Happy Birthday, Betty!

To celebrate, we’re inviting the campus community to a Founder's Day kickoff event in the McConnell Theater on Monday, November 15, at 4:15 p.m. Provost John B. Weinstein will introduce a new short film dedicated to Betty’s founding vision and how it’s expressed today. For those who want to participate, the event will conclude with a writing prompt from Dean of Faculty and Curricular Development Brendan Mathews.

Please join us in recognizing the mother of the early college movement and her many achievements.
