Daniel Arts Center

The 2nd Annual Danny’s at the Fair closes the second season of Daniel's Art Party, a multimedia arts program based on the campus of Bard College at Simon’s Rock.

This indoor county fair and variety show brings together farmers and artists for a joyful and irreverently playful show, featuring blue ribbon competitions for categories like Most Delicious Honey, Most Sensual Cheese, Most Beautiful Chicken, and Most Charismatic Goat.

This year’s musical acts include old-time music performer Paula Bradley, raconteur Allen Timmons, balladeer Ryan Foss, and (for the second year in a row) Broadway belter Lauren Elder. Elder played Orange Star in Orange Star Smasharoo during the first season of Daniel's Art Party in 2018. Other featured performers include the tap dancers from the Claire Teague Senior Center; marching band musicians from Monument High School; and an eccentric, community dance ensemble, The Danny Dancers.

Contributing artists include Ruggero Lori, local Rotary Club VIP John Benedict, CTSB’s Chris Graham, and Thaddeus Kubis. More artists will be announced soon.

Stressing the importance of locally grown foods, Ari and Noah Meyerwitz’s Sproutman and the Simon’s Rock Center for Food Studies are co-sponsoring the production. The farms represented (so far) are fourth-generation Trumpet Hill Farm and Big Ash Farm.

This family-friendly show is open to the public and is free with a suggested donation of $10.
