Simon’s Rock parents can play a key role in making our one-of-a-kind college the best it can be. Please consider sharing your time and talent to benefit the students at Simon’s Rock, and in the process, get to know other Rocker families!
The Parents Leadership Council is comprised of parent representatives from each class of current students who support the college at the Provost Circle level or higher. There are also parents of alumni on the Council. The PLC enhances the quality of Simon’s Rock student life and learning through three basic activities:
Parents work with the Institutional Advancement team to raise gifts from parents of current students and parents of alumni in support of the College's Annual Fund.
The Parent Communication Team makes phone calls to encourage parents to attend Simon’s Rock events in their area (Faculty Salons) and on campus (Family Weekend). Members of this team also serve as moderators in the Parents group on Facebook.
Parents co-host events with the Institutional Advancement team in their homes or a nearby venue to enable parents, students, and alumni from a particular geographic area to get to know each other. Parents often relish the opportunity to meet other parents of early college students and are sometimes surprised to find they have peers in their own city/town.
