Downtown Great Barrington is not far from campus — a moderate walk or bike ride, or a short drive. You can always hop a ride into town on a Simon’s Rock shuttle, or call for a regional bus to come pick you up. The Berkshire Regional Transit Authority (BRTA) bus makes hourly loops around Great Barrington and will make stops at Simon’s Rock when requested via the 800 number listed below. We’ll also work with you to be sure you get to your local internship, worship service, or volunteer activities.
Students are not permitted to have cars on campus in their first year. After that, all vehicles must be registered and all drivers are subject to state and campus regulations.
In addition to regular shuttles to town, the College provides transportation to students to a variety of academic and recreational events, select standardized tests, internships, volunteer placements, and some medical appointments.
College employees can make requests with the Transportation Request Form.
To reserve a ride to the Albany or Bradley International airports, or the Albany bus or train station for breaks, please use the Break Shuttle Request form. Limited service to Wassaic/MetroNorth is available. The deadline for signing up is 5 p.m. on the Friday prior to the first departure from campus.
