Bard College at Simon's Rock invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Photography beginning Fall 2018.
The successful candidate will hold an MFA in photography, and will be an experienced teacher and active artist with a strong exhibition record.
Applicants should have an in-depth understanding of photography, especially digital photography, including workflow and printing, scanning, Adobe Creative Cloud, the theory and history of photography, and contemporary issues and approaches. Candidates should be prepared to teach a 3/3 course load at all levels, covering practical, historical, and theoretical studies. Teaching in the college’s liberal arts core seminar or a photography class at the Bard Academy high school program is an expectation. Additional responsibilities include serving as an academic advisor and senior thesis advisor, overseeing the Photography program, and managing adjuncts and lab technicians. As a small college with an emphasis on interdisciplinary studies we particularly welcome applicants with additional expertise in other mediums within the visual arts.
