Mass Live Arts: 'Youarenowhere'

Saturday, July 11, 2015

Daniel Arts Center

In YOUARENOWHERE, award-winning performer/designer Andrew Schneider balances performance with a complex landscape of visual and aural effects to produce a disorienting, hyperactive piece that questions reality in all its physical and psychological aspects. A series of enigmatic events happen in a space where nothing is what it seems, and the past, the present and the future exist all at the same time.

The narrative layer weaves together fractured stories, mistaken identities, pop-science, and personal confessions that deal with subjects as incongruent as quantum mechanics, parallel universes and Craigslist’s Missed Connections. The rich scenic environment compresses both form and content to the point of sensory and emotional overload.

Returning to the Berkshires after triumphant New York premiere at PS122’s COIL Festival in January 2015, this MLA-commissioned work will make a three-nights only appearance in the first week of the festival. It will transform our space into a modern multimedia theater, accessible to an intimate audience. Book early to ensure availability.
