Mass Live Arts: Thank You For Coming Play

Tuesday, July 14, 2015

Daniel Arts Center

As part of our multi-year commitment, MLA welcomes back Faye Driscoll Group as festival artists-in-residence. For ten days, they will be working on Thank You For Coming: Play (working title), the second installment of the Thank You For Coming trilogy. Our audiences will be invited to take a sneak peek into the process of the work, and then see the completed work. Play is scheduled to premiere in 2016.

The new piece focuses on the ritual of storytelling as pivotal point of departure for building the individual and social identities and connections. By engaging its audience in a dance-play, Play will implicate them as co-creatorsand co-performers.

Thank You For Coming series - a long-term creative endeavor, initiated with Attendance, MLA/14 - strives to provide an insight into how we experience ourselves in relation to other bodies, other stories, and the spaces we all inhabit. By creating these works (meant to be eventually presented together), Driscoll asks: Can we subvert a disconnected social experience through a radical, participatory live performance?

Event is free to the public.
