The Center for Food Studies invites you to a panel discussion entitled "Food Travels: International Food Studies" with Zachary Nowak of the Umbra Institute in Perugia, Italy and Maryann Tebben, Head of the Center for Food Studies at Simon's Rock. The speakers will discuss their recent publications in food studies as well as opportunities for students to pursue food studies abroad with the Umbra Institute.  Zachary Nowak is the author of Truffle: A Global History (Reaktion Books, 2015); Maryann Tebben is the author of Sauces: A Global History (Reaktion Books, 2014) and "Seeing and Tasting: The Evolution of Dessert in French Gastronomy", an article in Gastronomica (Summer 2015). This event will be of special interest to students considering study abroad in Food and Sustainability, Italian, or World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOFing).
