Chamber Music with Clarinet

Sunday, February 21, 2016

Kellogg Music Center

On Sunday February 21 at 3 pm, the Simon’s Rock Faculty Recital series continues with a program featuring faculty members Ronald Gorevic and Larry Wallach along with two guest performers: Paul Green on clarinet, and Jonah Thomas on cello. The program will feature the formidable Quartet for Clarinet, Violin, Cello, and Piano by Paul Hindemith, as well as the entertaining Suite for Clarinet, Violin, and Piano of Darius Milhaud, and Fairy Tales by Robert Schumann, in which Mr. Gorevic will perform on viola. Rounding out the program is an Andante for violin and piano by Gabriel Fauré.  Green, Gorevic, and Wallach, well known to local audiences, are renewing their collaboration after previously performing together in a program on the same series in November, 2014. Jonah Thomas, who grew up in the Berkshires, is a Juilliard School graduate who performs and composes in a variety of genres, and belongs to the new-music group Quiet in the Head.  The concert will take place at the Kellogg Music Center on the campus of Bard College at Simon’s Rock, and starts at 3 pm.  Admission is free on a first-come-first-served basis.  For further information, call 413-528-7212.
