Poet Brenda Shaughnessy will read from her latest book, The Octopus Museum, as part of The Poetry & Fiction Series. The reading is free and open to the public.

Brenda Shaughnessy was born in Okinawa, Japan and raised in Southern California. She is the author of five poetry collections, including The Octopus Museum; So Much Synth; and Our Andromeda, which was a finalist for the Kingsley Tufts Award, The International Griffin Prize, and the PEN Open Book Award. A winner of the James Laughlin Award from the Academy of American Poets and a 2013 Guggenheim Fellow, Shaughnessy is an associate professor at Rutgers University.
