Each year on November 16, we recognize the birthday of Simon’s Rock founder Elizabeth “Betty” Blodgett Hall.
Betty changed education with the radical idea that curious and independent adolescents deserve a new path to college in a fast-changing world. We celebrate the birth and the legacy of this remarkable educator with Founder’s Day, and we'll hope you enjoy the video we created to mark the occasion.
More than 50 years on, we recognize Betty as the founder of what has become the early college movement, and we honor her vision by offering students a safe and creative intellectual haven, regardless of ability to pay. We also continue to offer generous financial aid and scholarships to our students, made possible by the generous support of donors.
If you haven’t yet, please consider making a gift to mark Founder’s Day and to help us continue to uphold Betty’s legacy for future generations of Simon’s Rock students. You can donate online or make a pledge by contacting advancement@simons-rock.edu.
