“The Ballad of Buster Scruggs,” written by alums Joel and Ethan Coen, received a 2019 Oscar nomination for “Best Adapted Screenplay. This is the Coens’ seventh nomination for screenwriting. The pair have won twice before, with “Fargo” (Best Original Screenplay) in 1997 and “No Country for Old Men” (Best Adapted Screenplay) in 2008.
The Coen’s critically-acclaimed collaborations also include “Raising Arizona” and “The Big Lebowski,” a cult favorite reportedlyinspired by the Cove Bowling Lane in Great Barrington, MA.
