Simon’s Rock welcomes Professor Dimitri B. Papadimitriou to campus in the role of Acting Provost while Vice President and Provost Ian Bickford is on a special academic-year assignment in Vietnam. Professor Papadimitriou, who is a Simon’s Rock parent and former ex officio member of the Board of Overseers, is Executive Vice President Emeritus of Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson and President of the Levy Economics Institute. He also served as Minister of Economy and Development for the Hellenic Republic from 2016 to 2018.
At the request of President Leon Botstein, Dr. Bickford will spend significant time
this year in Ho Chi Minh City helping to establish the new Fulbright University Vietnam,
which has been guided in its planning phase by Bard College, Harvard University, and
Olin College of Engineering. Dr. Bickford will return to Great Barrington regularly
throughout the 2019–2020 academic year.
