GREAT BARRINGTON, MA — Simon’s Rock Faculty in Theater Sara Katzoff will be premiering an original work-in-progress production titled “Repair.”
“For the past eight weeks, I have had the pleasure of collaborating with an extraordinary group of humans on the co-creation of an original theater piece inspired by the words and stories of a group of formerly incarcerated men here in Berkshire County,” said Katzoff.
Developed in partnership with aftercare group 2nd Street, Second Chances, the script was written by the duo of Katzoff and Amy Brentano, who have worked together in the past on similar projects, based on quotes from recorded interviews with the real-life inmates the characters in the production are based after. Previously, Katzoff and Bretano produced “Release,” which was based on the stories of previously incarcerated women now under the care of 2nd Street Second Chances.
“Repair” is an original work-in-process theater piece inspired by stories of formerly incarcerated men in Berkshire County. It will premiere on August 12 at 7pm and August 13 at 2pm & 7pm. The show is open to all and free to attend at the Robert Boland Theatre at the Koussevitzky Arts Center in Pittsfield, MA.
