Bard Academy at Simon’s Rock is the nation’s first two-year high school for boarding and day students.
Ready to ask the big questions? At Bard Academy, you’ll find faculty who welcome intellectual
curiosity, and classmates who love to learn — just as much as you do.
Bard Academy students are a diverse bunch, but have a few things in common: intellectual curiosity, an independent spirit, and a love of learning. We haven’t condensed the high school experience; instead, we’ve created a program that takes a collegiate approach to learning from day one. After the 10th grade, all students in good academic and social standing are admitted to Bard College at Simon’s Rock.
Since Bard Academy shares faculty with Bard College at Simon’s Rock, students build meaningful relationships with their future college professors at the very beginning of high school. The Princeton Review gave Simon’s Rock a higher academic rating than Harvard or Princeton.
Bard Academy at Simon’s Rock is located in the heart of the Berkshires, on the verdant, 275-acre campus of Bard College at Simon’s Rock. A stone’s throw from downtown Great Barrington — named “Best Small Town” by Smithsonian magazine.
Bard Academy students enjoy all of the College’s resources and facilities, from our community gardens and research labs to our library, art studios, and theater spaces. Academy students are invited to join sports teams, clubs, and activities.
The application to Bard Academy is a holistic process. We want to get to know you as a person, understand your unique interests, and find out where you’d like to go academically.
