Elibba Dean is headed to Austria to teach English thanks to the Fulbright U.S. Student Program.
Fulbright Austria (Austrian-American Educational Commission), in coordination with the Austrian Ministry of Education, Science, and Research, has awarded the Bard College at Simon’s Rock alumna a U.S. English-language teaching assistantship for the 2018–2019 academic year. Elibba will be teaching in secondary schools in Austrian university cities, while concurrently pursuing research and taking university courses on a part-time basis.
Elibba received her bachelor’s degree in Philosophical Studies and German Studies from Simon’s Rock in 2017. In her junior year, she spent the fall semester studying abroad at Heidelberg University in Germany.
A talented flutist, Elibba continued playing in the Applied Music Program at Simon’s Rock. Following graduation, she entered the Eastman School of Music in Rochester for a year of intensive musical study, and has learned to play bassoon and piano.
