Biography:

BEng, MEng, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore;

PhD, Computer Vision, Kingston University, UK.

Myo specializes in the field of Computer Vision and data science, with her PhD dissertation focusing on video content analysis for surveillance applications. Prior to her current position, Myo spent 15 years contributing her expertise to various institutions, including the Computer Engineering Department at Chiang Mai University, Thailand. She also co-founded a data analysis service company and worked as a freelance consultant on educational reform projects. Earlier in her career, she served as a research engineer & scientist at A*STAR, Singapore. Passionate about empowering youth through education and impactful research, Myo serves as an advisor for Women in AI (Myanmar Chapter). She was acknowledged as one of the leading lights for Kindness and leadership in the Asia Pacific region (2023). Additionally, she was awarded a US ASEAN Science & Technology fellowship in 2019, during which she developed a strategic plan for Science, Technology, and Innovation Policy in Myanmar, advocating for evidence-based policy-making and technological innovation. Her work as a US-ASEAN fellow led to the ASEAN Science Diplomat Award in 2021.
