Social Sciences

Study in the Social Sciences focuses on understanding people in systems.

We will look at how our ways of knowing the world affect the world, what our sense of understanding the lives of those within social structures means for our sense of responsibility for and in the world around us. We will explore topics in human rights, globalization, power, and selfhood, as well as hands-on learning of practical research methods.

Social Science 224: Globalization

Globalization is one of the defining features of the contemporary world, but there is considerable controversy regarding its nature, impact, and future trends. The goal of this course is to clarify what 199 globalization is and how it is affecting communities around the world.
