Finding Order: The Science of Classification
Thursday, April 8, 2021
Virtual
Classification is the process of labeling and ordering things according to shared qualities or characteristics. It is one of the many ways in which we make sense of the world, and while it can be useful, it can also be problematic.
Librarian William McHenry, Profesor Donald McClelland, and senior Teddy Driscoll will lead a Brown Bag Lunch discussion called Finding Order: The Science of Classification. We will discuss classification systems and taxonomy in library land, biology, and everyday life.
