Downtown Great Barrington is not far from campus—a moderate walk or bike ride, or a short drive. You can always hop a ride into town on a Simon’s Rock shuttle, or the regional bus. The Berkshire Regional Transit Authority (BRTA) bus makes hourly loops around Great Barrington and will stop at Simon’s Rock by calling the 800 number listed below. We’ll also work with you to get you to your local internship, worship service, or volunteer activities.
Students may have cars on campus after completing their first two semesters. Vehicles must be registered and all drivers are subject to state and campus regulations .
In addition to regular shuttles to town, the college provides transportation for students to a variety of academic and recreational events, select standardized tests, internships, volunteer placements, and some medical appointments.
College employees can make these arrangements with the Transportation Request Form.
To reserve a ride to the Albany or Bradley International Airports, or the Albany bus or train station for breaks, please use the break shuttle request form. Limited service to Wassaic/MetroNorth is also available. The deadline for arranging this shuttle service is 5:00 p.m. on the Friday prior to the first departure from campus.
If you are currently signed-in to a Google account, you must first sign-out, click on the link to the form, then enter your Simon's Rock username and password.
Please note that only students who live more than 300 miles from the College may stay on campus during breaks. More information in the College Student Handbook .
Transportation to local places of worship is provided. We encourage students interested in exploring faith-based communities in our area to contact these local communities for more information and scheduled services. If you need assistance please contact the campus life office at 413-528-7693.
A shuttle is available between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. for students going between our upper and lower campus. The shuttle stops at the bottom of Fox Run at Lake Mansfield Rd., Pibly House, and the Student Union. Students can call the college's main number anytime to arrange a ride anywhere on campus.
