Health Services

Our Health Services staff includes registered nurses with extensive experience working with adolescents. We are available to discuss concerns, no matter how minor, and will assist you in caring for your health.

  • We counsel students with concerns about sleep, diet and stress.
  • We provide smoking cessation assistance.
  • We work closely with our counseling staff for students with mental health issues affecting their physical health.
  • We review and maintain all student’s health records.
  • We provide support and care for students with basic healthcare needs/chronic conditions through care management and direct care, including dispensing of weekly/monthly medications.
  • We assess acute infections and injuries, as well as exacerbations of more chronic problems, and develop a treatment plan.
    • All acute infections and injuries requiring advanced care will be sent out to either the local ER or Urgent Care.
  • We provide basic wound care as needed.
  • Our nurses work closely with Tapestry Health for the sexual and reproductive health of the students.

The Wellness Center encourages students to make appointments to see a nurse; however, for medical concerns requiring immediate attention (i.e.: an acute injury), students can go directly to the Wellness Center during business hours.

All medication pick-ups and non-urgent health needs will be scheduled according to nurse availability and student’s academic schedules.

To schedule an appointment to see a nurse, the student can call: 413-528-7353 or email wellnesscenter@simons-rock.edu.
