Send Us Your Original Thinkers
As a high school counselor, you know your students in ways that no one else does — and you probably know students who are ready for the academic challenges at Simon’s Rock. We invite you to send these creative, relentlessly curious, independent thinkers our way. Our alumni tell us that they’re forever grateful to the people who told them “You belong at Simon’s Rock.”
Every counselor knows students for whom the traditional high school path is uninspiring and unfulfilling — students whose lives would be forever enriched by the unique opportunity we offer young scholars to attend college now. For these students, early college at Simon’s Rock provides a much-needed answer — and a welcoming community. Who do you know who would thrive here?
Our students experience a top-ranked, transformative, liberal arts education in the company of smart, independent, creative peers who share their excitement for learning and their desire to be part of a vibrant intellectual community. The rigorous and engaging academic experience we provide is coupled with a support system specifically tailored to the developmental needs of younger students.
The best way to get to know us is to visit us — whether that’s virtually or in person, once it’s safe to do so again. There is no real substitute for visiting campus in person, but we hope you will connect with us through other options. To schedule a time to connect, please contact Admission at admit@simons-rock.edu or call 800-235-7186.
Not just Early College: The Simon’s Rock campus is also home to Bard Academy, the nation’s only independent high school that prepares students to start college after two years. Bard Academy is the place for rising 9th-grade students whose independent thinking sets them apart. After an enriched, accelerated high school experience, students are ready to begin full-time studies at Bard College at Simon’s Rock.
The Simon’s Rock Summer Young Writers workshop is a three-week-long residential program for high school students, focused on using informal, playful, expressive writing activities designed to strengthen students’ language and thinking skills. Since its inception in 1983, the program has continued to attract students from across the country and around the world, and leave them better prepared to meet the challenges of a rigorous college education.
