Senior Theses in Creative Writing

The BA program culminates in the writing of a Senior Thesis.

In the spring of your junior year, you will choose a thesis topic and submit a proposal to guide your work during your senior year. For Creative Writing students, this means spending your senior year writing a collection of short stories, or a poetry collection, or a novel, or a hybrid form that draws together multiple genres. You’ll meet weekly with your thesis advisor to present new work, review your progress, and discuss plans for revising each poem, chapter, essay, or story. The Senior Thesis gives you the freedom to devise and create an original work of real substance—and to do so with the support and guidance of your thesis advisor.

It's your chance to research what interests you. Write. Reflect. Discover. The faculty is here to support you as you pursue your passions.
